Waiting for Santa

I am so excited about Christmas this year! Last year Kase was so tiny, only 3 months old, so he didn't really get what was going on. But this year he is definetly more aware of the excitement and magic of Christmas. He loves seeing all the lights and plays with all the ornaments
on the tree. Tyler and I even did a little Christmas shopping with him along. We figured this was the last year we could get away with that. I can not wait for Christmas morning!! Watching his little face light up at all the gifts and just feeling thankful for everything God has blessed us with.

Pretty babies

A few weeks ago I ran into an ex of mine that I hadn't seen in several years. We said hi
and asked how eachother's lives were. I told him I had a 15 month old son and he excitedly
shared that he had a 20 month old daughter. He immediately brought out his phone
full of pictures, like most parents do. I however, did not have my phone on me. He started showing me a slide show of his cute little girl. She had blonde hair and blue eyes just like her dad. As cute as she was, us parents always think our kids are cuter. But before I could tell him anything about my darling child, he looked at me and said, "See.. should have stuck with me. I make pretty babies!"

"EXCUSE ME!" is what I was thinking! Who are you to assume that I did not make a pretty baby! Anyway, I smiled it off, told him it was nice seeing him and left shaking my head.

I couldn't help but laugh when I told Tyler and some friends the story, because in my opinion, Tyler and I made the prettiest baby known to man!!

Just look....

There is nothing more beautiful than that face.

The Little Gym

Kase started class at The Little Gym last month and is loving it.
He goes once a week and has a lot of fun. He's is so adorable
climbing on the mats and can even do pull ups on the bar. It's still
weird that my baby is growing up, but I absolutely love watching
 him grow.

Baby's First Hair Cut

I put it off as long as possible because it's just one more step towards him growing up, but
we finally got his first haircut back in October and I'm so glad we did. He looks so
handsome!

He was nervous at first.

Good thing I have a hair dresser for a best friend. Kari Lahde
is the best!

He did so good and sat so still for her. I was so proud of him!

Look at that big boy!

No more mullet! But Mommy saved some of it ;)

Gotta get a lollipop for being such a good boy!

Shopping With Kase

Shopping with Kase has become quite an adventure these days. First example was a month ago at the grocery store. I was doing shopping for the week, so the cart was piled high to the top. Kase thought it would be funny if he started grabbing things, throwing them on the floor, just so he could say, "uh oh!" So everytime something new went in, out it would go  onto the floor, just in time to hear "uh oh!" I was bending over every two seconds and he thought it was just hilarious. He was very proud of his "uh oh, " obviously likes the sounds of his own voice.

Next it was at Target. We were in the Pajama/Intimate Section. I was on the phone for a minute and browsing the sleep pants. I hung up the phone and look in the shopping cart, only to find about ten pairs of panties!! All Extra Large and Hot Pink! He was grabbing anything he could reach and tossing it in the cart. I thought I put them all back and finished our shopping. Wouldn't you know I go to checkout, get all the stuff out of the cart and find one more pair of extra large hot pink panties at the bottom of the cart. My face turned a slight shade of red as I handed them to the teenage boy and told him I didn't need to buy them. Oh what a day!

The latest excursion took place at the Outlet Mall.  My mom and I wanted to take a quick trip to exchange some shoes I bought for Kase. Well, you know women, the quick trip turned into an hour and a half of walking around, browsing, and trying on. Kase was fed up! He'd been relatively quiet as long as he had a sippy and some snacks, but he was ready to get out of the stroller and stretch his legs. So we had one more store to stop in, and decided he should be fine out of the stroller for a few minutes. Boy were we wrong! The second we get in the store and his feet touch the ground, he goes running like a wild man. He grabs a stack of sweaters and tosses them on the floor. Then another stack. Next, he grabs a purse and stuffs it into the bottom of the stroller!! My mouth just dropped! As mom and I start running after him, he moves to the front of the store and is banging on the glass window like a monkey stuck in the zoo. I finally wrangle him back into the stroller, thinking that will solve the madness. He's screaming and wailing as I push him along. (This is where most mom's would probably give up and go home, but they were having such a great sale, I had to get a couple sweaters!!) So on the way to the fitting room, arms and legs flailing everywhere (a definite sign of needing a nap) we walk by a cart where he proceeds to hit a box full of thousands of dress pins that go flying EVERYWHERE!! They're in his lap, his stroller, the floor, his diaper bag!! Now I'm on the floor picking up thousands of straight pins that are stuck in the floor and making no progress. He's screaming, my mom's laughing and I'm about to lose it. I get about half of them up, before deciding it's a lost cause and I really need to try these sweaters on and get this baby outta here! Needless to say, he is not allowed out of that stroller anymore!

He may be a handful, but he keeps me on my toes! Life is not slow when Kase Dylan is around. Lots of people keep asking me if we are ready to have another and the answer is..... NO!!! It's not that I don't want more, cuz I do, but I feel like he still needs so much of me. And I still am amazed every day at this little human Tyler and I created that is so curious and bright. Maybe when he gets a tad bit older, I'll be ready, but for now he is still all the baby I need and want.

Kase's 1st Birthday

Here are a few pictures from Kase's party. Of course our camera died towards the beginning of the party (bad mommy for not charging it) and my mom's camera was brand new to her so everything came out blurry (if you know my mom, you know she is not a great picture taker :P). Regardless we had a wonderful time and are very blessed to have such great friends and family to help us celebrate. The theme was Sesame Street Beginnings and was sooo cute. Kase had lots of fun opening his huge pile of gifts.

I can't believe my little baby boy is already a year old. Time moves way too quickly. As much as I miss that tiny little baby, I am absolutely loving the little man he is becoming. He has more personality than I think we know what to do with. He is so full of love and life and just keeps us smiling all the time. Even when he's driving us crazy with his curiousity. He is into everything, wanting to know how things work. What happens if I drop this? What will mommy do if I get into this? He definitely tests his limits. But thats what I love about him. He has no fear and is just so smart. He picks up on things so quickly. I try really hard not to take for granted the fact that I am so lucky to be able to stay home and watch him grow everyday. I wouldn't want to do anything else. I want to be the best mommy I can for him, helping him, nurturing him and encouraging him to learn and grow.

This was his actual birthday day. We might have gone a little Elmo crazy.
 Presents!
Ate lunch with Daddy that day.
Did not like our singing :(
 Yummy cupcake
 Party Day!
The cake was sooo delicious! (No I did not make it, lol)
He was so careful at first, then got into it.

 Loves his new sandbox
Letting his friend Parker test out the new swing.

I have a few more pics to post, but they're on my moms computer so I will post them when I get them from her.

A Crazy Two Months

I'm not as good at keeping up with this thing as I thought I would be. But in my defense we have had a very hectic two months. Also my personal computer is down with no internet. So, now that things have settled, keep an eye out for updates and pictures. Coming soon... Kase's First Birthday Party pics!! Lots of love!

Walking and TALKING

Our little man is off and running. Well not quite running yet, but he is definitely a full time walker and it's so cute. He's still a little wobbly at times but going to the shoe store this week and getting his first pair of kicks should help him gain some stability. We already found a pair online to  match Tyler.

But more impressive than him walking at 10 months, is his vocabulary at such a young age. And not only vocabulary, but comprehension and understanding of the words he uses. For example, one of his new words is "hot." But not only can he say it, if I give him his waffle in the morning and its still a little warm, he knows to say "hot!" Or when he gets in the carseat when the car has been in the sun, "hot!" Some other words he's been using are "all done" and "eyes."  OHHHH and are favorite new thing he does is when you ask him "Kase, what does a lion say?!" He growls at you!! And it is the most adorable thing ever.

I have to admit I'm a proud momma. It is such a joy watching him grow from a little baby (I will miss that stage immensely) to a walking, talking toddler. He is going to keep us all on our toes, that's for sure!!

Looking cool with Mommy

10 months old going on 2 years

So it's been a while since I have updated things on here, but I have a good excuse...
This kid keeps me so busy, I don't have time to sit for 5 minutes!  He is in to everything. He is too smart for his own good and my own good! But I am having the best time ever with him. It's so much fun watching him grow and develop into a little person. We keep saying he is a two year old trapped in a 10 month old's body. But we can't even say that because he's as tall as most two year olds. He's already 2 1/2 feet tall and 20 1/2 lbs. The list of his recent accomplishments and milestones is a mile long. Here are a few examples of his new tricks:
*Waves bye-bye
*Claps his hands
*Can say several words like "night night" "hot" and of course everything is "dada"
*And now within the past 3 days, he is walking!!!!

This mommy is very proud. It's still freaking me out a little bit, that my baby isn't going to be a baby much longer. Soon he will be a toddler running around and talking and driving me crazy, I'm sure. But through all these changes and accomplishments, he has kept his sweet spirit and beautiful smile. I feel so incredibly lucky that I get to spend my days watching him grow and learn. I told Tyler the other day, that even if I have a bad day whether it's cuz I'm tired or he's not napping, or he's being needy and wanting to nurse every hour or screaming all day, that even then its still not a bad day, because I got to spend it home with my baby. I wouldn't want it any other way. I'd take a bad day with him over going to work any day.

His first birthday is sneaking up around the corner and we are already thinking of party ideas. I'll let you know what we decide soon!!

San Antonio for our First Anniversary

Tyler and I have a special connection to San Antonio and the Alamo. It started almost 8 years ago when he took me on a weekend trip to San Antonio to tell me he loved me for the first time. I remember being on the boat you take down the river and it was a beautiful September day with the warm sun shining on my face, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world knowing the handsome guy next to me was in love with me. Then 7 1/2 years later... when we got married, we had our reception in an Alamo replica. So... for our first wedding anniversary, where better to go, than to San Antonio. This time with a baby in tow, we walked the Riverwalk, ate great mexican food, swam on the rooftop pool, and visited the Alamo. We had a wonderful time and it was a great way to celebrate our love.
He was excited about the big comfy bed.

Ready to go

Let me do that mom

It was hot!

Kase and Daddy

There is no denying these two are father and son. Just look at those eyes!

Kase is really starting to become attached to his daddy. They have a lot of fun together and Kase gets sooooo happy when his dad comes home from work.

Kase is very amused when Tyler is doing things around the house or when daddy reads to him and sings songs. They are my two favorite boys. It's really sweet to see how much they love each other. Tyler is an amazing dad.

Kase helped Daddy lower the mattress on his crib.

He was so excited to get use tools!

First airplane ride and trip to P.A.

Unfortunately, my Grandpa Boppy passed away recently. He was a hero in our eyes and will be greatly missed, but we know he is up with Nana enjoying eachother's company once again.  He did have a chance to have a little time getting to know his great grandson Kase.
Kase wasn't always sure about that old man.

But he warmed up.

So, to say our goodbyes, my family all flew up to Pennsylvania. It was Kase's first plane ride and he did great.

He got passed around from family member to family member to try and keep him occupied.

Chillin in the airport.

This is before he peed all over Aunt Katie. And mommy forgot to pack an extra outfit in our carry on, so we had to buy an oversized little kid t shirt for him to wear with a diaper. Classy, I know!
